System Features

GSSF is developed on Windows 2000/XP (.NET) in order to exploit the rich functionality of this platform, while models are kept platform independent and are implemented in C++. It provides a modern and flexible Human Machine Interface (HMI) with context sensitive elements.

The Extensible Markup Language (XML) is used to provide model meta-data, e.g. interface descriptions and documentation to support users in understanding the models.

The component-based model approach provides a plug-in capability for introduction of new algorithms or models.

GSSF has been designed to have no run-time dependence on COTS (Commercial of the shelf) products. The only exception is the use of IDL for data visualisation. A product licence produced by CREASO to cover IDL runtime execution with GSSF is available for authorized users.
